Pearland is Allegedly Home to the Worst Drivers in all of Texas
An insurance website is warning Pearland residents to watch out, after it used several criteria to label the suburb's drivers the worst in Texas. QuoteWizard.com looked at DUI rates, speeding tickets, accident rates and other citations to determine where people practice safe driving and where they don't. The study only sampled data from users of the QuoteWizard site. The site reports that Pearland is No. 1 in accidents for the state and second in DUI rates. Texas may Require Students to Pass a Citizenship Test. How would you do?
Texas may soon require high school students take a version of the test all immigrants looking for U.S. citizenship must pass. On Wednesday, the Texas House is scheduled to take up a bill that would eliminate the required U.S. history end-of-course for public high schoolers and replace that with a version of the civics test that immigrants must take to become U.S. citizens. As of 2017, 15 states have passed similar legislation, according to the Arizona-based Civics Education Initiative. State Rep. Royal Caribbean Announces New Ship Sailing from Galveston
Royal Caribbean is expanding its ship lineup in Galveston. The island will welcome the Enchantment of the Seas on June 23, 2018. Sailings on the new-to-Galveston vessel will be available to book starting Friday, May 5. Some Miami guests who were previously booked on this ship for cruises after June 23, 2018 will now board the Mariner of the Seas instead. The cruise liner also announced in a press release that after a three-year hiatus, it will start cruising from New Orleans again with the 915-foot, 2,435-passenger ship Vision of the Seas.
